JERSEY TROOPER ATTACKED

I came across this little article while researching the Ulrich case.  It is an interesting short piece and the trooper obviously was a tough man. Article is from 1926.  It lists the trooper as A. C. Hunter, however the trooper's initials were A. F.  Trooper Hunter was badge number 205 in the NJ State Police and graduated as part of the 6th state police class in April of 1923.

I am working on a project about this incident.  I figured I'd share some old newspaper headlines of articles I have, and photographs on the case.  This will help to familiarize people with the incident that happened in February of 1926. Troopers back in the 1920's needed the Colonel's permission in order to marry.  Trooper Ulrich did not seek permission and kept his marriage a secrete. Read more here.
